In a family of seven boys and two girls, my mom and dad were very aggressive in raising us with respect and manners. Please, Thank you, Excuse me, were a part of maintaining civility and were a necessary part in building a home that worked.
In Genesis 1:1 it says "In the beginning God". Then begins the story of creation where He brings order out of chaos. If there's one thing the story teaches, it is that there is structure to what God does and there is purpose to structures he creates. He separates light from darkness, waters from dry land.
There is an old story from the Knights of the round table, about a newly knighted knight. He was sent on a quest to rescue a damsel held hostage by four tyrant brothers! The yellow knight, the green knight, the red knight, and then the most feared, the black knight! The story is entitled: Sir Beaumains, the kitchen knight if you wish to read it for yourself.
God is looking for partners!
God does his work in this world in partnership with people.
Nehemiah. 2:20a says "I replied, "The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, his servants, will start rebuilding this wall".
On Monday evening this week a gentleman and godly brother from our congregation passed on to his eternal home.
Why would we look forward to the return of Jesus Christ?
