Breakthrough 93: Day 14

Written by Pastor Nelson Jones

You may not have realized it but you need a guard! Another way to put it is, you need protection! Even another way is to say, you need a security detail! Look at this Scripture.

"Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:7 NLT

What we have here is an incredible revelation of the key to a strong healthy heart and mind! It is peace! Not just any peace though. Specifically, it is God's peace! He is saying that there is a peace that only God in his presence, power and protection brings. God's peace is a security detail for our minds and hearts! So obviously, "how do we have God's peace?" becomes the question. The answer is found in the previous three verses.

"Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say again-rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace,"

Now there is a lot in there and we certainly are not going to exhaust it in one meditation, but consider these points. That;

  • Joy
  • Unselfish consideration
  • Trust that Jesus is alive and coming again
  • Total life prayer, hiding no needs
  • Gratefulness for his past goodness

...brings his peace, which in turn, guards our hearts and minds!

God's security detail for you is waiting to be in place, beating back the attacks on your heart and mind!
